Privacy Policy for Ciska IQ

Effective date: 9 October 2026

Ciska Telematics Ltd (“Ciska Telematics”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) operates the Ciska IQ mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how the App accesses, collects, uses, transmits, stores, shares, retains, and deletes user and device data.

1. Information We Access and Process

Location data: Ciska IQ accesses, collects, and transmits approximate and precise device location, including GPS and network-based location, to provide the App’s tracking and location features. Location may be accessed while the App is visible and, when a user enables a continuous tracking or related location feature and grants the required Android permission, while the App is in the background, closed, or not actively in use.

Account and authentication data: We process information used to sign in to and operate a Ciska IQ or connected tracking account, such as an account name, username, email address, authentication credentials or tokens, and account identifiers.

Tracking and asset data: The connected tracking platform may process the location and operational information of vehicles, trackers, or other assets linked to an authorised account, including current position, route or trip history, time, speed, events, and alerts.

Device and technical data: We may process device type, operating-system and App version, IP address, security logs, diagnostics, and technical information required to provide, protect, and troubleshoot the service.

2. How and Why We Use Location Data

Ciska IQ uses location data only for user-facing tracking and safety functionality, including showing location on a map, locating nearby or linked assets, navigation and routing, recording or displaying journeys and trip history, supporting geofence or safety events, and delivering location-related alerts. Background location supports these functions when an enabled tracking feature must continue while the App is not on screen.

Location data is not collected for advertising and is not sold. The App requests Android location permission before accessing permission-protected location data. Users can deny or withdraw permission at any time through Android Settings; location-dependent features may then be limited or unavailable.

3. How We Use Other Information

  • Authenticate users and maintain account sessions.
  • Provide live tracking, maps, trips, history, alerts, and account services.
  • Protect accounts, prevent misuse, and maintain service security.
  • Respond to support requests and troubleshoot technical problems.
  • Comply with applicable law and enforce our terms.

4. Data Sharing and Service Providers

The App delivers tracking functionality through a connected web-based tracking platform and may transmit data to systems that host or operate that service. We may share data only as necessary with service providers that support hosting, cloud infrastructure, maps, communications, security, customer support, and technical operations; with the organisation or account administrator that authorised and manages a fleet or tracking account; or when required by law, legal process, or to protect users, the public, or our rights.

Service providers are permitted to process data only for the services they provide to us and must protect it appropriately. We do not sell personal or sensitive user data, including location data.

5. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organisational safeguards to protect information. Data transmitted between the App and connected services is protected using secure connections such as HTTPS. Access is restricted to authorised users and service personnel where required for their roles. No electronic transmission or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain account, tracking, location, security, and support data only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain legitimate business and security records, resolve disputes, or comply with legal obligations. Retention periods may vary according to the type of data and the requirements of the account or organisation using the tracking service.

Users may request access, correction, or deletion of their personal data or account by contacting us at ciskamarket@gmail.com. If an account is managed by an employer, fleet owner, or another organisation, the request may need to be handled by that account administrator. When a valid deletion request is completed, associated personal data will be deleted or anonymised unless retention is required for security, fraud prevention, contractual, or legal reasons.

7. Children’s Privacy

Ciska IQ is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that a child has provided personal information without appropriate authorisation, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the App, our data practices, or legal requirements. The revised policy will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
